With a little imagination, a homeowner can visualize a gem of a house under a peeling paint job. But the expense of repainting doesn't need to stand in the way what could be - with a little polish - your dream home.
The solution? MetroPaint, a high quality, extremely affordable, environmentally friendly, 100 percent recycled latex paint.
Metro has been collecting surplus latex paint from households and businesses and processing it into high-quality recycled paint since 1992. Metro processes more than 100,000 gallons of paint annually at its state-of-the art paint recycling facility in Oregon City. Stringent testing methods, careful blending, and filtering are the reasons that Metro Paint is popular with contractors, homeowners, and property managers who want a paint that covers well and holds up over time.
Available in 14 colors and at the extremely affordable price of $20 to $30 per five-gallon pail MetroPaint receives raves from painters and contractors who have used it. Jim Primdahl, formerly a building contractor and now an employee of the Rebuilding Center in Portland, has used Metro paint on a variety of projects and says, "I've used it in all the typical weather conditions we deal with in this area. It goes on like velvet."
Because MetroPaint contains a combination of glosses, acrylics and enamels, the paint is suitable for use indoors or outside. The paint can be rolled, brushed, or sprayed on all types of surfaces: wood, brick, sheetrock, masonry, and metal. Customers report that the paint is very durable and can be washed and scrubbed. Colors are off-white, cream, tan, peach, brown, barn red, gray, green, sage, yellow, blue, teal, stone, and pink. MetroPaint sells for $30 per five-gallon pail for off-white, and all other colors are $20 per pail. Colors are subject to availability.
MetroPaint is available at Metro's Latex Paint Recycling Facility in Oregon City, as well as at a number of retail outlets. For more information and directions, call Metro Recycling Information, (503) 234-3000. You also can get information - including a chart showing the 14 colors available - at
