have traditionally been “Ladies Night” at local establishments.
Parr Lumber has put a new spin on this tradition by offering workshops
for ladies only. These hands-on sessions teach women that power tools
aren’t just for men any more! Each Ladies Night offers five of
the workshops described below. Refer to the chart at the bottom of

Replacing Locksets
Want to replace that old doorknob on your front door but don’t
know how? This workshop will teach you from start to finish how to
replace the locking mechanisms on the doors around your home.
Sheetrock Repair
One of the necessary steps to repainting or refinishing your walls
is taking care of those minor repairs in the sheetrock. This workshop
takes you through the proper steps, tools, and materials to complete
this task like a professional.
Replacing Switches
and Outlets
Do you have a non-functioning outlet or want to replace a regular
light switch with a dimmer switch? Then this workshop is for you!
We take you step-by-step through the proper procedures to completing
this often-intimidating process.
Winterizing
Your Home
With winter quickly approaching, what do you do to keep the heat in,
the cold out, and protect your plumbing from the cold? Let our expert
show you the things you can do that can help your home retain its
heat and protect your plumbing from the approaching cold weather.
Bird Houses
and Feeders
Pre-cut pieces make this workshop a fun project class that can help
you to build your skills with basic tools. You will learn the proper
techniques and tools for completing this project as well as adding
to the skills that can help you with maintaining your own home!
Staining and
Finishing
This workshop will show you the proper tools and techniques for staining
and finishing wood. Start small with the molding in this workshop
and you’ll soon be ready to tackle that old chest of drawers
at home.
Faux Painting
($15 fee, class size limited to 15)
One of the hottest topics in home decorating today is faux painting.
This workshop can show you the proper tools and techniques to turn
a wall or a room into a work of art. And you’ll be able to say
you did it yourself!
Wainscotting
You love the look, but you’re afraid to install or even choose
the style of wainscoting for your own home. This workshop can help
you choose and install wainscoting, allowing you to add that wonderful
detailing to your home.
